If you thought
a flag was the best thing to come around in attracting far away geese, wait until
you see this. Now with our SiloFlag™ motion top you can wave six or more silhouettes on one string at a flock of geese. One hunter can control three or more strings next to his blind. Imagine one hunter being able to flag eighteen
silhouette decoys, on one side of the spread, at a flock of far away geese. And
that is only one hunter. You have to see it to believe it! Typically 6 silhouettes will get placed on an activation string and one hunter can easily control three strings or more with one hand through a flag port on his blind. That is eighteen silhouettes flagging at far away geese to get their attention. To flag at far away geese you would make the silhouette decoys turn 90 degrees about one time a second. It makes an incredible noticeable movement at farther distances. Once the flock gets closer you would slow down on the motion to make it more realistic or switch to rotation of your shell or full body decoys. Now you can hunt with an all silhouette spread of decoys and have motion in your spread also. Or you can use Silhouettes to attract geese or ducks to your full body or shell spread. You make the motion and they will come! How it works SiloFlag™ motion tops work so well as a motion decoy to distant birds because they appear to disappear and reappear when turned from an on edge view to an on full side view. When you’re looking at the on edge view of a silhouette decoy all you see is a dark line above the decoy stake. If you rotate the silhouette decoy 90 degrees you will see the entire decoy. If you randomly setup your SiloFlag™ motion tops at any angle they should all be at different angle to each other. You would place them just like if you were hunting with an all silhouette decoy spread and wanted them to be visible from all directions. As you pull the activation cords, different decoys will be in different stages of disappearing and reappearing from the view of the geese. This makes it look like the entire flock, or at least the decoys you are moving, are moving independently. The Silhouettes Existing silhouettes can be used with this system, but we do not recommend that regular silhouettes be used when the geese are close. Normal silhouettes, and yes, even Real Geese silhouettes produce a washed out shine when waved back and forth. So we are recommending for you to use Avalanche Decoys on your SiloFlag motion stakes. Avalanche Decoys silhouettes are fully flocked and will not produce any shine when waved at geese. They can even be moved lightly as geese approach and an all silhouette decoy spread to finish wary geese. Avalanche Decoy is even planning to offer decoys with premade holes cut so they can be used with SiloFlag motion tops in the future. |
